I’m with you Sho on the jiggle confusion… so is my wife. We both went “huh?” when my icons turned into a Jell-O commercial.

I still can’t come up with anything simple enough that doesn’t evoke a giggle out of most people so I guess it’s the best we’ve got for the moment?

BTW, I see that current politics is evoking the same sort of emotions as it is in me, you should check out my blog I think you’d like it.

Interesting! More proof that different visual effects evoke different responses in different people.

I realize that “fluid” is the feeling they were going for, but it just doesn’t feel that way to me. To me, it feels more like “brownian motion” or “earthquake” or “dance party”. And seeing the icons shake gives me a subtle feeling that something is broken.

Gotta disagree with you about the jiggling icons. As soon as I saw that, it felt perfect at the gut level. Jiggly == fluid == moveable/editable. Doesn’t get much simpler or intuitive.
